Sixth graders at Rockbridge Middle School understand that all streams in our area drain to the Maury and then to the James. How healthy are these streams? For the third year in a row, the entire sixth grade is testing water samples from over twenty local streams. Here are some pictures of their class investigations. | We live at the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay. All the run-off in Rockbridge flows to the Maury then the James and into the Bay. This game teaches us how different pollutants get to the Bay from Rockbridge and what we can do to prevent the pollution from happening. Let's Save the Bay! |
How healthy are our local streams? Three young scientists perform water testing in their 6th grade classroom. They will test the same streams three more times during the school year and record their findings on Rockbridge Hydropedia for the world to see. |
